We got our travel approval today, no consulate appointment date until next week because Chinese New Year begins tomorrow and government offices closed, but most likely leaving end of February!
First of all we would like to congratulate you on your adoption of Jia! We adopted one of Jia's friends in March 2010: an albino boy of now 5 years old called Bai Yi. He still asks after the orphanage and his friends and we were very happy to find your blog. Now we can tell him Jia has a family of her own, his greatest wish for all of his friends.
If you have the opportunity, ask for photos of Jia in the Orphanage of Jiaxing. We didn't have that opportunity, since Bai Yi was the first child to be adopted and the staff was very nervous. We know from pictures on our sent disposable camera, that they have pictures. Actually a lot.On the day we went to the orphanage ( which was a huge surprise) many pictures were taken of us as a family by the staff of the orphanage.
It is a loving orphanage. You can tell by the way the children react to the staff. You cannot get into contact by e-mail, since they do not speak English.
Have a very very pleasant journey to your daughter. We know you have been waiting a very long time.
